There are hundreds of deaths every year due to exposure to cold weather. A number of mountaineers have fallen victim to cold injuries. Mountaineers require clothing that is light and can be carried by them on top of the mountains. 

MPI has developed many products for NASA. “ALL WEATHER BLANKET” is one such product. This blanket helps in retaining 80 percent of the heat generated by the body. It is a four ply laminate of clear polyethylene film, a precise vacuum deposition of pure aluminum, a special reinforcing fabric and a layer of colored polyethylene film. The different layers help to trap the heat. . The blanket can be folded to the size of a small package of cigarettes. It is 84 inches by 56 inches in size, which is quite good for any adult. It is tear and rupture resistant.
